A devastated student has had to redo a whole year’s work in one month after her laptop and back-up memory stick were stolen while she stepped away from her desk.
The devices contained copies of her dissertation and final year project for her degree at the University for the Creative Arts in Epsom.
They were stolen from the university in Ashley Road, Epsom sometime between 1pm and 1.30pm on Thursday, April 6 as the student stepped away from her desk.
The victim’s purse was also stolen and her bank card subsequently used in McDonalds in Epsom High Street half an hour later.
“Now all she wants is her work back from the computer,” a Surrey Police spokesman said.
The force today (Friday, May 26) released images of two men they wish to speak to in connection with the theft.
