A new Taqueria that offers 70 types of Tequila has opened in Battersea Park.
Londoners have a new place to get their Mexican fix at Cartel, a late-night tequila bar and taqueria which specialises in authentic, hand-pressed tacos.
Inspired by the traditional taqueria - a street food stall offering cheap tacos and other Mexican dishes - customers can also dance the night away with bands playing from Thursday to Saturday.
The venue in Battersea Park Road can seat 120 diners but can hold up to 250 reveller when the music really gets going.
The menu offers a range of taco fillings from pulled chicken cooked in Mezcal and lemon to slow-cooked beef brisket with chorizo, radish and coriander while a range of quesadillas are also available.
Vegetarians and vegans are welcome too with options like a tofu, black bean and roasted tomato in chipotle sauce taco up for grabs.
Former El Camion bartender Josh Rooms is heading up the bar team and has designed a cocktail list that celebrates tequila and Mezcal, with twists on old favorites and new creations like the Orendain using Arette Blanco, Creme de Cacao, Dry Vermouth and bitters or a Palenque a Mezcal based drink with a guava balsamic reduction.
Cartel, located at 517-519 Battersea Park Road, Cartel is open from 5pm to midnight on Mondays to Thursdays and 5pm to 2am on Friday and Saturdays.
