The deadline to have the council make a minor repair to a pavement somewhere in the borough is midnight on Friday.

The community pavement repair fund is a £35,000 pot allocated to each of the borough’s 14 villages for maintenance work.

After nominations close, council highway engineers will visit nominated areas to review the suggested repairs. Officers, along with Richmond Council’s member for highways and streetscene, Councillor Peter Buckwell, will select the winning pavements.

The results will be announced in June.

Cllr Buckwell, said: “We are committed to improving roads and pavements across our borough.

“The fund underlines that commitment.

“And, it is more popular than ever. There is still time to have your say. Remember – the more people in a road nominate the same ‘small fix’, the stronger the nomination.”
