A decapitated cat was found outside the Ashford Community Centre, believed to be the latest victim of the Croydon Cat Killer has stuck again in Twickenham.
According to the charity South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty (SNARL) the mutilated moggie was discovered in the borough in the morning of Thursday just off the Staines Bypass.
Both the cat’s tail and head had been savagely cut off, leading the charity to ascertain immediately it was a victim of the vicious killer
A statement on SNARL’s website said: “We were called to a report of a mutilated cat found on the dog walking grounds behind Ashford Community Centre, TW15 3NJ.
“An all black female cat was found with it's head and tail removed injuries identical to others found. As such it is being treated as another victim under Operation Takahe.
“Sadly the cat was not chipped so we have been unable to identify the owners. If anyone is missing a black cat from this area please contact us.
“RIP little one.”
The Croydon Cat Killer, also referred to as the M25 Cat Killer, has allegedly decapitated cats across London over the past two years. It is now believed more than 200 cats have been mutilated.
Another alleged victim was discovered in Kingston last week, with the charity SNARL having recently appealed for more “boots on the ground” to help them with the search.
The Metropolitan Police launched Operation Takahe last year to investigate the cases, but has yet to identify the killer.
Animal rights campaign group PETA is offering a £5,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s capture.
