A teenager has denied raping a boy at a Croydon secondary school.

The 16-year-old from South Croydon, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Croydon Youth Court today charged with two offences under the Sexual Offences Act.

He pleaded not guilty to raping a boy under the age of 13 and inciting a boy under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.

The offences are alleged to have taken place at the school, which also cannot be identified, on February 11, 2015.

The accused teenager was bailed on the condition of not contacting the victim.

He will next appear at a ground rules hearing at the youth court on March 24.
