A touring caravan belonging to Epsom-born television and film actor, Warwick Davis, was stolen from his home near Peterborough.

At some point between 5pm on Thursday and 12:45pm on Friday the vehicle was stolen from Davis’ home in Yaxley, Cambridgeshire Police said.

The Star Wars and Harry Potter actor tweeted: “My touring caravan was stolen in Cambridgeshire last night even though it was locked up with hitch & wheel lock! I want to swear... #rotters.

“My stolen caravan: Swift/Archway Cranford 545. Could have headed north or south on A1, south on M11 or west on A14.”

Davis was born in Epsom in 1970, and went to City of London Freemen’s School in Ashtead, before his film debut in 1983’s Return of the Jedi.

Monty Python’s Eric Idle and Dragon Den star Duncan Bannatyne were among those who tweeted their sympathies.

Idle said: “May they be cursed with continual diarrhoea and their nipples explode on the A 40. Miss you Warwick. Love from Miami.”

Bannatyne tweeted shortly after: “Sorry to hear that mate. Let's hope we find the thieves.”
