A drink-driver careered into a row of vehicles and overturned her car after travelling the wrong direction down a one-way street while four times the legal alcohol limit.

Christina Dillon, 46, of Woodside Court Road, Addiscombe, was handed a suspended jail term and banned from the road this week for ploughing into four parked vehicles.

Tests showed 319mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood, described by the police officer called to the collisions as "the highest I have known".

Dillon taken to hospital after being found in her car, flipped onto its roof, just metres from her home in Woodside Court Road at 6.20pm on May 6.

She suffered no serious injuries and was arrested and charged with driving without due care and attention and driving with excess alcohol.

She was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for two years, at Croydon Magistrates' Court on Monday after admitting both charges.

Dillon was also disqualified from driving for 34 months and ordered to complete compulsory rehabilitation and alcohol treatment courses.

Constable Andy Dobbs, of the Metropolitan Police's road and transport policing unit, said: "This case highlights the dangers of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol. Dillon was travelling the wrong way in a one-way street and collided with four cars.

"When tested the level of alcohol found in Dillon's blood was the highest that I have known, nearly four times the legal limit. I am thankful that no one else was involved."

Dillon must also pay £150 court charges, a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
