A driver was lucky to escape serious injury after his car hit two lampposts outside a country club.
The accident happened outside the Royal Automobile Club in Wilmerhatch Lane, Woodcote Park, on Sunday shortly before 1pm.
A silver Mazda 323 GSI had left the road and hit two lampposts – one of which shattered the windscreen – before coming to a stop.
A man in his seventies was treated for minor injuries and taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting as a precaution.
Surrey Fire and Rescue and the South East Coast Ambulance also attended.
The road was partially closed while the vehicle was recovered and the lampposts made safe and was fully open by 5pm.
Reader Mark Anthony sent these photos of the aftermath.
The RAC said it was unaware the incident took place.
