A car turned into a fireball in a suspected arson attack in West Molesey last night.
A crew from Esher fire station were called at 9.38pm to a car "well alight" in Fleetside and spent an hour tackling the blaze.
Firefighters used two sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a dry powder extinguisher to bring the fire under control.
An Esher firefighter said: "The fire was of deliberate origin and believed to be arson.
"It was completely gutted and we left it in the hands of the police."
The spokesman added they were unable to tell the make or colour of the vehicle.
