A former student visited St George's College to discuss the Bafta-winning film he worked on.
Sean Bobbitt, who was also nominated for an Oscar, talked to the upper sixth form of the Weybridge college about the technical aspects of filming 12 Years a Slave.
Mr Bobbitt spoke to the students on Wednesday, January 21, about his 20 years in the film industry and how difficult it can be while also being rewarding and enjoyable.
Many students were unaware of what cinematography actually involved but, after his talk, said they would now notice how cameras worked in various films.
Emily Jaye, a student, said: "His modesty towards his successful career was admirable. We wish Sean many successes in his future career and look forward to seeing his work on many films to come."
