Primary school pupils in Cheam are creating a huge artwork to mark their new academy status.
More than 400 boys and girls at Cuddington Croft Primary School have painted self portraits on individual tiles, which will eventually be put together to create a mosaic.
The 4 to 11 year-olds created the artworks yesterday, with the final creation expected to be completed early in 2015.
It will feature on the side of a new building being constructed on the site.
Staff from Village Ceramics in Cheam were in the school all day helping the children to paint their tiles.
Cuddington Croft is run by the multi-academy trust GLF schools, having previously been a local authority school.
