A newlywed has died in a freak jet ski crash just two days into his honeymoon.

Jeremy Hope, 39, died on his way to hospital shortly after his jet ski collided with a friend's off the coast of the Greek island of Santorini.

Mr Hope, who reportedy lived in Tadworth, was a founding partner of Saxon Kings estate agents in Park Road, Kingston.

The Mirror has reported that the friend, Peter Hudson, has been arrested and faces charges of negligent manslaughter.

The owner of the jet ski rental, Yannis Kostopoulos, has also been arrested.

Mr Hope only married his wife Sarah on Monday before Wednesday's crash.

According to national media reports, Mr Hope appeared unharmed immediately after the collision, and went back to sunbathe with his new wife.

But he fell ill, and was being airlifted to a hospital in Crete when he died in the helicopter.

A close friend of Mr Hope's told the Mirror his family were "devastated" by his death.
