A Worcester Park artist is creating and selling a painting a day to raise money for charity.

Contemporary watercolour artist Jenny Hawke is setting aside an hour every day to paint something that has inspired her that day.

She then sells the pictures for £25 with £20 from each going to the Leprosy Mission and the remaining £5 going towards her materials.

Mrs Hawke, a pilates teacher, started at the beginning of July and is going to carry on throughout the summer.

So far her paintings have included a day trip to London, helping out at a local food bank and making apricot jam.

The mum-of-two said: "From the beginning of July I made a pledge to paint a picture each day as it focuses the mind.

"It forms a pictorial journal of the summer and I’ve been amazed by the interest the pictures have attracted."

Mrs Hawke grew up in India as the daughter of missionary parents Eddie and Barbara Askew. More than half of the world's leprosy cases are diagnosed in India each year.

She also has a book out in August called Are We Nearly There Yet about long journeys her family made in India while she was a child.
