A charity aiming to raise £75,000 as part of our Shine On Appeal has been chosen as a supermarket’s fundraising partner.

The Sunnybank Trust, based in St Barnabas Church, in Temple Road, Epsom, has raised £3,182 since The Epsom Guardian launched the appeal a month ago, with £730 alone coming in from a jumble sale held at the church at the weekend.

The charity provides vital services to those with learning disabilities in the community - including a weekly social club, a friendship programme and an advocacy service.

And now Sainsbury’s Local, in Ewell, has chosen to raise awareness of the Shine On Appeal by making it its local charity partner.

Dorothy Watson, manager of the charity’s social club, said: "We are thrilled.  We will be working closely with Sainsbury’s to promote awareness of the charity and to continue to raise funds for the Shine On Appeal.  The appeal is proving to be a great success."
