Don’t jail me, begs flasher

A flasher who was caught twice masturbating in an alleyway next to Tiffin Girls' School, Richmond Road has pleaded to go on a sex offenders' course instead of being sent to jail.

Jayson David Binnie, 34, of Woodfield Road, Thames Ditton, was caught the first time by a teacher at the school in April this year.

Prosecuting at Kingston Magistrates' Court last week, Gary Sparrow said: "The teacher had just finished teaching a class of 15 to 16-year-old girls.

"As the girls were making their way back towards the changing rooms, she saw a man with his hand in his groin masturbating. Luckily the girls didn't see him."

Mr Sparrow added that a neighbour spotted Binnie in a state of arousal in the same place about a month later.

In both cases he exposed his penis.

Mr Sparrow said: "When found by the police he initially denied the offence, saying he was in the area as part of an exercise regime.

He later admitted the offence and three others committed in the London area."

Defending himself, Binnie said he regretted his actions.

He said: "I am ashamed by my actions in the past, and I would like to have the opportunity to go on the offenders' programme."

Binnie was sentenced to attend a sexual offenders' programme and to pay £70 costs. His name was also put on the sexual offenders' register.

Head teacher of Tiffin Girls' School Pauline Cox declined to comment.
