Lord Dubs visited Kingston Liberal Synagogue to deliver his message that the UK should accept more child refugees.

Urging support for the "Dubs amendment", a scheme to help unaccompanied children settle in Britain, he spoke at the synagogue's AGM.

He was a child refugee himself, and has been an active supporter of Learn English at Home, a programme working with recent refugees in the Kingston area.

Rabbi Rene Pfertzel said: "Because of Brexit, our government could be closing a vital route for child refugees in Europe to reach family in Britain."

About 50 members of the synagogue joined Labour peer Lord Dubs for the meeting and lunch.
