An escape room could be set up in Hook if Kingston Council grants planning permission.
The proposed site is the currently vacant floor above Bathstore and London Kitchen Shop just off the Ace of Spades roundabout.
Permission is needed from the council to allow the space to be used for recreational activity.
The application has been made by DBIO Ltd, a UK-based company that designs entertainment centres.
Plans describe the escape room “experience” as being played by teams of two to six, with players challenged to unlock the door by searching for clues and solving puzzles within 60 minutes.
The space is proposed to have several games of varying difficulty, each with a unique theme and scenario, spread across five rooms.
