A murder investigation has been launched following a stabbing in Kingston.

Police were called to a disturbance in the Cambridge Estate at about 6pm on Tuesday, June 6.

Officers found a 38-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.

Paramedics and a team from London Air Ambulance delivered emergency first aid, but the man died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination carried out on Wednesday, June 7, identified the cause of death as a stab wound to the man's left lung.

Officers have informed the next of kin.

A 23-year-old woman, a 45-year-old man and a 51-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody at separate police stations.

All three remain in custody after a warrant for further detention was granted.

A cordon was set up in Burrit Road as police investigated.

A neighbour said: "I came home and police were here. I had no idea what was going on. It's a massive shock."

Another cordon was set up at a property in nearby Hampden Road, where a neighbour said he saw a woman being arrested on Tuesday night.
