A man needed hospital treatment after being hit by a train in a busy station.

The commuter, believed to be in his 30s, was in Clapham Junction Station, St John's Hill, when he was struck by the train at about 7pm yesterday.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to St Thomas' Hospital, central London, with a leg injury.

Train services were temporarily delayed following the incident.

A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance service said: "We were called just after 7pm.

"We sent two single responders in cars and an ambulance crew.

"Staff treated a man reported to be in his 30s."
