Gym users have been trapped inside a Wallington health club after a fire broke out nearby.

Emergency services have said people working out at Surrey Health and Racquet Club are unable to leave because of the blaze in Hannibal Way. All other buildings - around 100 people - including Teddies nursery, have been evacuated.

The fire service was called to the area, close to the border between Sutton and Croydon, just before 8am.

A 200 metre hazard zone has been placed around the cylinders, which can explode, as a precaution.

It is understood around 50 firefighters from Croydon, Norbury, Woodside and Purley are fighting the fire - and there are concerns there could be gas cylinders close to the blaze.

A spokesman for London Fire Brigade confirmed officers were still at the scene.

I am a pupil at wilson's school and happened to be in the area at the time of this incident. I have lots of pics of the blaze and the cloud; and also a video of the fire engines fighting the blaze. How can I send them to you?
