Winter weather could not deter fitness fanatics who turned out to use a new open air gym installed in a public park.
The exercise equipment, at Lloyd Park, Croydon, was formally opened on February 11 and is the fourth outdoor gym installed as part of the council’s £1.5m Parks to be Proud of Investment project.
Councillor Sara Bashford, cabinet member for customer services, culture and sport, said: "With everyone feeling the pinch these days I think there's loads of people who will appreciate these great free facilities.
"Croydon's parks might not have the climate of Venice Beach, but when you see how well this equipment is being used even on a freezing day like this it's obvious why it was such a popular choice when we asked people to vote on how their money should be spent."
Other free outdoor gyms include Duppas Hill, Coulsdon Memorial Ground and Sanderstead Recreation Ground.
