Fatima Whitbread's fat fighters come to Croydon

Shoppers in the Whitgift Centre got an unexpected treat this afternoon.

Olympic medalist Fatima Whitbread was joined by singer Peter Andre at the Croydon centre as she filmed an extract of Fatima's Fat Fight for ITV's This Morning.

The show sees the former javelin thrower help four overweight people to get fighting fit in just 12 weeks.

Singer Andre came to support the four fat fighters, as they performed an exercise routine on a stage in the centre.

Andre became firm friends with Fatima after the pair met on the last series of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Viewers can keep up with the progress of Sharon Fisher, Andy Reeve, his wife Ruth, and Dwain Smith over the coming weeks.

Fatima said: "My responsibility is to help them achieve what they set out to do with losing weight and helping them get fit.

"I try to keep in contact with them weekly. We help them with exercise and food, but also help them psychologically."
