A man has suffered serious injuries after confronting two burglars who targeted his home in Epsom.

During the incident in Tonstall Road at 11pm on Sunday, February 11, the men broke in and were confronted by the homeowner.

He might have left one of the intruders with injuries to his face before they took a unique chain and an iPhone 7 in a black leather case.

The two men left in the direction of Briane Road, and the victim was taken to hospital – he has since been released.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who saw the incident, has been offered the chain, or has any other information.

The men are described as being in their early 20s, approximately 6ft, white and of slim build, but both had jumpers pulled up over their faces and hoods pulled over their foreheads, exposing only their eyes.

One was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a grey zipped-up sweatshirt and a black hooded jumper – he is thought to have brown hair.

The other was wearing black bottoms, a black zipped-up sweatshirt and a black hooded jumper – he is thought to have blonde hair.
