This glorious £1.5 million Scottish castle, complete with its own home cinema and grand hall, is being offered as a prize by an Epsom charity.
Susan DeVere is putting her beloved 45-roomed Orchardton Castle up for grabs in the competition, with tickets costing £5 each and entries open until May 18.
The unique competition is hoped to raise £100,000 for Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity which supports families with a seriously ill child.
Rainbow Trust enables families who have a child with a life-threatening illness to make the most of their time together.
Susan DeVere said: “We really hope this competition will capture people’s imagination, as it really could be won by anyone buying a £5 ticket.
“The lucky winner has the option of living in it, running a bed and breakfast, turning it into a wedding venue or developing it into a new business.”
Orchardton Castle is set in five acres of land and its rooms include a cinema, games room, function room, grand hall, drawing room, music room, dining room, sitting room and three exclusive apartments. It also has access to a beach for riding, walking and sailing.
Oonagh Goodman, director of fundraising and marketing at Rainbow Trust, says: “What an incredible competition this is, our sincere thanks go to Susan for choosing to support Rainbow Trust.
“All the funds raised through the entries will help us fund our vital support to families with a seriously ill child and help them make the most of the precious time they have together.
“The castle is an amazing prize and we can’t wait to see who the lucky winner will be.”
