A supported housing service for teenagers and young adults in Epsom is appealing to the town’s residents to provide some festive cheer by donating Christmas gifts.

Sanctuary Supported Living’s (SSL) Defoe Court supports clients who often arrive at the service with no possessions of their own, and is appealing for Christmas food and gifts appropriate for 16 to 25-year-olds, with suggested items including kitchenware, warm winter coats, toiletry sets or vouchers.

SSL local service manager Katie Ashworth said: “When young people come to our service, they can often arrive with nothing but the clothes on their back, and no family support network in place.

“Donations for this appeal will give our residents the chance to build a new life for themselves, as well as make sure they don’t have to miss out on Christmas at a difficult time in their lives.”

Staff at Defoe Court work with their residents to provide personalised support, tailored to their individual needs, to help get them back on their feet and living independently.
