Two men have been arrested following an aggravated burglary in Reigate.

Police were called to a house in Alexander Road at about 11.30pm on Thursday, October 12, after getting reports that two men had smashed windows in the front and entered the house at the back.

Detective Sergeant Karen Hughes from East Surrey Criminal Investigation Department, said: “Thankfully the occupants were not injured but this terrifying ordeal has understandably left them extremely shaken.

“We have seized two weapons from the scene and are carrying out forensics at the property today to establish the circumstances behind this incident. I would like to hear from anybody who witnessed anything suspicious in the area around the time to call us as soon as possible.

“I would like to reassure local residents that we believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider community.”

The two men, aged 18 and 20, remain in custody.
