Police investigating the murder of a man at a pool party in Headley are appealing for people with information to come forward a year on.

Ricardo Hunter, 34, was found dead in the garden of a property in Church Lane at around 2.30am on Monday, July 25, 2016.

He was found dead at the scene and a post-mortem examination concluded the cause of death as a result of a gunshot wound.

Detective chief inspector Mike Ashcroft, who is leading the investigation, said: “It’s now been a year since Ricardo was shot and killed and I am still appealing for information from his community as to who was involved in the planning and shooting.

“You know if you were at the party and haven’t come forward and it is to you I am making this appeal.

“We believe that some members of the community know who killed Ricardo, and we urge you to assist our investigation and help us get closure for the victim’s family.”

A £10,000 reward is available for information that leads to the direct arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Officers from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team continue to carry out an extensive investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.

They urge anybody who attended the party or with information to come forward by calling 101 quoting Operation Avondale or report online: https://www.surrey.police.uk/contact-us/report-online/
