A woman has been taken to hospital with “potentially serious injuries” after a crash in Woodmansterne this morning.

Two cars crashed in Croydon Lane near the junction with Carshalton Road just before 8.20am today (Thursday, July 13).

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was taken to St Helier Hospital in Carshalton with neck and leg pain, a South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) spokesman stated.

A woman was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting, he added, with “potentially more serious injuries”.

SECAmb sent two ambulance crews to the scene, who were joined by critical care paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS).

Croydon Lane wasclosed between Carshalton Road and Sutton Lane, Traffic England advised, but has now been reopened.

Police are directing traffic.
