The first baby hedgehog of the breeding season has arrived at one of Europe’s largest animal rescue centres.
The RSPCA brought the seemingly smiling youngster to the Wildlife Aid Foundation in Randalls Road, Leatherhead, after it was found by a dog. Two of his siblings were also found, but did not survive.
Vet Angela gave the uninjured baby rehydration fluid and moved him into one of the charity’s orphan cages, where he will stay until he is old enough for release.
