The Anglers in Walton has had a £400,000 makeover to become “the iconic depiction of a traditional waterfront pub”.
Sitting next to the Thames in Manor Road, the nineteenth-century pub has been transformed by new owners Stonegate.
The work has allowed the addition of 70 seats, and 15 new staff have been hired.
Manager Mark Slowe said: “We’re definitely making the most of the Anglers’ position on the river. The restoration has made a countrified summer and winter pub offering a seriously relaxing experience.”
The Anglers now has a rustic bar selling craft beer on one floor and another floor serving 21 British gins, as well as a team serving up pub food “with a chef’s edge”.
An opening night was held on March 8, with tasters of the new menu and glasses of fizz for the guests.
