A Croydon motorcyclist has died after a crash in Mereworth this morning.

The man, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision on Seven Mile Lane, Mereworth just before 11am.

Kent Police are investigating the accident involving a white DAF truck and the motorcyclist's black Yamaha.

Officers say the truck was turning right off Seven Mile Lane when the collision with the bike, which was travelling in the opposite direction, occurred.

The road was closed between the A26 and A20 while police investigated the incident. It was reopened at 1.30pm.

The dead man's next of kin has been contacted by police.

My deepest sympathies to his wife & their children. He was a wonderful man, a doting father & friend to many. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
