Police are on the lookout for two people after a bike was stolen and a car damaged in Coulsdon.

On Monday, March 12, a moped with a French number plates was seen with two riders wearing balaclavas.

The riders were seen to damage a car before stealing a bike from the Rickman Hill/Chipstead Valley Road area.

In a facebook post, Coulsdon West Police said they are on the hunt for the two riders.

"The team responded to the call as we were near by," they said.

"The moped made off from police but were seen to discard the road pedal bike, aiding their escape from officers."

The bike was recovered by police however.

"It is a Merida model in black, white and green," the police said.

"We would like to return this bike to the owner, however we do not have a victim at this time.

"If you are or know of the owner of the bike is below please call 101 quoting reference number - 5213/12feb18.

"With regards to the riders, if you have any information regarding a moped on French plates in the area please contact us. We do have some leads to follow."
