A man who has been dumping pizza bases around a Coulsdon beauty spot has been fined.
For more than a month, the dough bases had been turning up overnight at Bradmore Pond, much to the confusion of residents.
One incident saw nearly 30 bases strewn around the bank of the pond.
After being caught red-handed by some passers by one night, the man claimed the bases were there to feed wildlife but the RSPCA warned it could cause serious harm to birds and other animals.
The charity said feeding waterbirds bread is 'not good for them' - and can even prevent young birds growing properly.
Coulsdon East Police took to Twitter to let people know that if you are caught dumping pizzas, you will suffer the consequences.
"The pizza man who thought it was a good idea to feed the ducks at Bradmore Pond mouldy pizza bases was fined £80 for littering today by NSO Mason," they said.
"Whilst the ticket was issued he was given another £80 for parking on double yellow lines."
