A parking job spotted in Caterham is dividing a community.

The photo (above) was snapped last week showing a van spread well across two parking spots in the Morrison's carpark.

At first, people were annoyed at the sight of the picture.

"There is no logical reason to park like that," one person said.

But some weren't as quick to judge, with people flocking to the driver's defence.

"Guess he'd stick out otherwise," someone pointed out.

"My old work van took up a space and a half length wise."

Another said that "although not ideal, that is the best, most considerate way to park that vehicle."

It wasn't just the van that caught people's attention though.

Everything from the size of the parking spots themselves to the blue car's attempt to squeeze between the lines didn't go unnoticed.

"I find the blue car parking more unsociable and unreasonable," one person said.

"Nearly over the white line on the car driver side. Maybe white van man didn't know bigger spaces at the top. I didn't and I've been here 19 years."

Another person said "how about making the parking spaces bigger, problem solved."

What do you think? Is this the worst piece of parking you've seen?
