Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer was sacked today after just four Premier League matches.

de Boer oversaw four defeats from the start of the season.

Palace did not score a goal in any of their matches, something that hasn’t happened in England’s top division for 93 years.

The Dutchman had been in charge for just 77 days and has overseen losses to Huddersfield, Liverpool, Swansea and Burnley.

A club statement read: “Crystal Palace Football Club have this morning parted company with Frank de Boer.

“We would like to thank Frank for his dedication and hard work during his time at the club.

“A new manager will be appointed in due course and we wish Frank the very best of luck for the future.

“There will be no further comment at this time.”

On Saturday, Crystal Palace will host Southampton.

They will then play against Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea.

de Boer’s departure from the club follows another short stint at Inter Milan, who sacked him after just 85 days.
