What do Rio Ferdinand, Nicole Scherzinger, Rochelle Humes from the Saturdays and last year’s X-Factor winner James Arthur have in common?
They all love Croydon’s latest X-Factor entry, Rough Copy.
The lively boy band are back on the show after they were booted out last year due to visa issues.
Kazeem Ajobo, of Selhurst, Joey Thomas, from Croydon, and Sterling Ramsey, from Sheffield impressed the judges at the weekend.
After their successful room audition on Saturday where they performed a version of Jessie J’s Do It Like A Dude, they had to perform to a bigger audience on Sunday at the arena audition.
The group sang an R&B remix of One Direction’s Little Things which not only got them four nods from the judges but impressed a number of celebrities as well.
Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand tweeted: “I'd like to see Rough Copy go far in X Factor this year. I want some R&B in the latter stages. Confident dudes.”
Rochelle Humes from girl group The Saturdays tweeted: “I am rooting for Rough Copy” and last year’s winner James Arthur said: “My boys Rough Copy, they deserve to be in the lives after last year, get behind them.”
Rough Copy’s performance on Sunday also seemed to have an impact on Nicole Scherzinger, one of the judges, who seemed quite taken with the group.
She tweeted: “Still swooning over the Rough Copy experience.”
The group are now through to bootcamp where they will fight for a place in one of the judge’s houses.
