Cheam bridal shop up for award

A bridal shop in Cheam has been shortlisted for best newcomer at an annual awards ceremony.

Aurora Bride is in for a chance of winning Best New Bridal Wear at the Bridal Buyer Awards.

Alison Sargeant, 28, the owner of Aurora Bride on London Road was ecstatic when she received the email saying they had been shortlisted on Wednesday, January 18.

She said that when the news came in, they all had a little cry in the shop.

She said: “We are so excited; we have a ridiculous number of nice frocks.

“We will get to see over 300 designers; it’s the biggest bridal fair after New York.

“You get champagne and get to look at dresses; it’s like the Oscars for bridal.”

Miss Sargeant praised all the work of the girls in her shop and said even if they do not win the award she will still be proud.
