An aspiring paediatrician from La Retraite Roman Catholic School in Clapham Park said she didn’t expect to get so many A* GCSE grades.
But 16-year-old Amarachi Anosike of Clapham North was delighted to receive an amazing 11 A*s when she opened her results.
“I’m really happy,” said Amarachi who will begin studying for A Levels in maths, biology, chemistry and economics in September.
Almost 100 per cent of the 146 GCSE students achieved grades A* - C with 86 per cent attaining grades A*- C including English and maths.
Headteacher John Conway said: “They are the school’s best results ever.
“We’re really on the up. I’m delighted with the fantastic efforts of students and staff.
“La Retraite is really buzzing.
“The real delight from this is that students of all abilities exceeded expectations.”
