A spokeswoman for London Ambulance said: "We were called to reports of a fall from height on Reigate Avenue, Sutton.

"The first of our staff arrived in six minutes.

So drove past our St. Helier District General Hospital Major A&E to St. George's.Hospital. It's all cut and dried isn't it ahead of the consultation. I wish the poor patient a good recovery and hope the St. George's staff remember to hand round the water.

It sounds as if she was flown to St Georges because of the severity of her injuries. Why would they take her to St Helier to make her stable, and then transfer her to St Georges? St Helier doesnt have specialist facilities. St Helier isnt and never will be a leading trauma hospital.

It seems that every accident is a 'Trauma' and has to go to St. George's so yep, you obviously don't need an A&E at St. Helier... may as well shut it down then!

Just to correct your story she didn't fall she tried to jump off the bridge in front of an on coming car, which she fortunately missed as the poor lady drive was heavily pregnant. She was removed from the scene by ambulance which made it's slowly towards St.Helier. What happened after that was a decision made relating to her injuries, so if St.Helier was no able to treat her, then thank god we all have other options. I wish her a speedy recovery and hope that she gets the help that she obviously needs.

Thanks for clarifying that Nat, it is good to know the facts, and it's a shame that the reporters don't when they file the original story.

It's good to see that the Ambulance crew did take her to St Helier first.... being about a mile away..... and then a decision was made.

Poor girl, life's pressures are hard on all of us so hopefully she will get through this and I hope the pregnant lady car driver is okay too... must have been a terrible shock.

It's a good job that St Helier still has a Maternity Department to look after her too if required!

Certainly won't be unless the locals demand it and just roll over to the bad decisions of NHS managers and remote civil servants in their Whitehall Tower.

Just to clear it all up, she jumped off the bridge in front of me, i was driving a van, there was no other car infront or behind me that nearly hit her, as i had to skid and move into the other lane, blocking the road so its not possible for anyone to be close to the girl who jumped!
