Wandsworth Police Station
Police have opened a new custody centre in Wandsworth.
The centre is based on the site of the police station, at the junction of Wandsworth High Street and Putney Bridge Road.
Opened to the first prisoners on Monday, the centre has 30 cells and will provide accommodation for a number of investigation teams that comprise the borough’s criminal investigation department.
Chief Superintendent David Chinchen said: "This will be one of the most modern custody facilities in London.
"This development brings a range of efficiencies that will enable us to further drive our operations to reduce crime and disorder in Wandsworth."
