Shoppers flocked to Sutton town centre for National Market Day on Saturday, June 23.
People were invited to hold a stall to test out their business ideas and around 35 budding entrepreneurs took the opportunity to display their wares at the market.
Organisers estimate the event attracted an extra 5,000 people to the High Street.
Councillor Jayne McCoy, chair of the housing, economy and business committee at Sutton Council, said: “Events like this are essential for healthy, vibrant High Streets.
"With the rising popularity of online shopping, it’s important to remind people of the unique experience of our town centres; with events that you can’t replicate on the internet.
“There was a great buzz all across the town centre on Saturday - the stalls were really varied and showed off the wealth of talent here in Sutton.
"The feedback we’ve had has been really positive, so we’re hoping it can become a regular event and it’s something we’ll be discussing at the Business Improvement District if it’s voted in next month.”
