A rock ‘n’ roll charity dance raised more than £2,000 for an ultrasound machine to look inside the hearts of sick babies.
The dance was held at Ashtead Baptist Church hall last Saturday in aid of the Epsom Medical Equipment Fund’s paediatric echocardiograph appeal for Epsom Hospital.
Live music from the 1950s and 1980s was provided by band Blowin’ a Fuse, a group which has played gigs for people with learning disabilities and for charity events around Surrey for the past 12 years.
Bess Harding, fund coordinator, said: "Raising this large amount of money has given a tremendous boost to Epsom Medical Equipment Fund’s paediatric echocardiograph appeal. "The arrival of this equipment at Epsom Hospital will enable newborn babies and children to be investigated and assessed for heart problems."
