Andy Turner had a disappointing 110m hurdles race at the Great CityGames in Manchester on Sunday.
The Sutton-based athlete made a decent start but lost momentum halfway through the race to come fourth, out of four, in 14.16 seconds.
He did recover to win the 200m hurdles race in 22.54.
“I tried too hard in the 110m race, David Payne and I were punching each other all the way,” he said.
“I feel fine though and my training is going well – I just need to do it in a race.”
Turner is one of three hurdlers to already have the Olympic A standard of 13.52 seconds this season – achieved when he ran 13.50 in Jamaica on May 5.
Andy Pozzi, 13.35, and Lawrence Clarke, 13.50, have also run the time.
