Police are appealing for information after a pensioner was killed by a lorry in Tooting on Friday.
The incident happened just after 9.30am on Friday morning (May 18) in Mitcham Road when the lorry struck the pedestrian.
London Ambulance Service said they were in attendance and confirmed the man, who was in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe they know the identity of the man but want to ensure all next of kin have been informed before formal identification takes place - a post mortem will be held in due course.
The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene, was arrested and later bailed to return to a south London police station on a date in June pending further enquiries.
Anyone witnesses with information should call the Road Death Investigation Unit based at Hampton Traffic Garage, who can be contacted on 020 8941 9011.
