HOMEFIELD BOYS TO QUIZ ROMAN MYSTERIES AUTHOR CAROLINE LAWRENCE Two classes from Homefield School in Sutton are to quiz Roman Mysteries author Caroline Lawrence at the Arts Theatre in Leicester Square on Monday 21st May.

The boys, aged 9 and 10, are part of an audience of 150 school children taking part in the live filming of “The Big Book Babble”. The main event is the interview of Caroline Lawrence, author of the Roman Mysteries books. The books have been made into a series shown on the BBC.

The first Roman Mystery book is ‘The Thieves of Ostia’. All the boys are learning Latin and some of them have visited Ostia on a school trip. Mr McCaffery, the Latin teacher, is very enthusiastic about the books and the TV series because they depict life in Roman times with great authenticity. The pupils love the series; some of them have read all 18 books!
