A Croydon woman arrested last week on suspicion of funding terrorism has been charged with conspiracy.

Lelah Ali of Pitt Road, Thornton Heath, was one of seven people arrested by detectives from the Counter Terrorism Command on May 1.

The 45-year-old was detained after officers visited four addresses in London, Coventry and Cardiff.

Miss Ali along with Hersi Farah, 47, of Torbay Mansions, Kilburn, Sharrif Ali, 45, and Warsame Nur, 42, both of Pioneer House, Coventry, will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court today.

Mr Nur also faces a further charge of fraud by false misrepresentation.

Three other people who were arrested at the same time have already appeared in court charged with conspiracy.

Adrian Wall also of Pitt Road, Thornton Heath, Liiban Nursharif, 30 of no fixed address, and Daud Ali, 40, of Wakehurst Place, Cardiff, appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Mr Ali is also charged under the Identity Documents Act for possessing a fake Norwegian passport.

Mr Wall was granted conditional bail, while Mr Nursharif and Mr Ali were remanded in custody to appear at Southwark Crown Court on Friday, July 6.
