Dozens of houses were left without power last night following a fire in an electrical junction box.
Firecrews were called to the fire in Leigham Court Road, West Norwood, at 8.30pm last night after people reported seeing flames coming from the box.
The power had to be switched off before firefighters could tackle the blaze, resulting in homes in the area being left without an electricity supply for several hours.
Firefighters also closed off the road while they put out the fire, leaving the scene at 11.30pm.
Nobody was injured.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
