A West Norwood firefighter returned to work, hours after finishing the London Marathon.
Watch manager Sally Coxon, 44, finished the course in five-and-a-half hours raising £1,000 for her local charity Shirley Neighbourhood Care.
The charity which is based in Shirley Methodist Church, Eldon Avenue, cares for housebound pensioners in the Shirley area.
The staff help them with their shopping, to doctor and dentist appointments and also offers a befriending service.
Mrs Coxon said: "I have three kids and I'm a watch manager, I wanted to do something for myself.
"The race was good, but it was very hard work at the end. At 21 miles my knees had had enough, I'm a little achy but I still came to work because I am committed to my job."
