Former Harlequins centre and World Cup winner Will Greenwood insisted his former club are still a tough nut to crack as the Aviva Premiership title race hots up, writes Sam Wakefield.

Quins have been in superb form all season, but saw their lead at the top of the table cut to a point following Saturday’s defeat to Leicester Tigers at the Stoop.

Director of rugby Conor O’Shea’s men scored four tries in the 43-33 thriller, with a style of rugby that has many admirers.

But, with England captain Chris Robshaw leading the side and significant scalps under their belt, Greenwood reckoned Quins had added substance to their style.

“They have been playing some great stuff,” he said.

“Some of their victories this season, like away in Toulouse and at Wembley against Saracens, have shown this is not just a team that can play, they’ve got real steel as well.

“They are very strong defensively and they have a very shrewd leader.”
