A Croydon building preservation company has been crowned Contractor of the Year.

RLH Developments were presented with the national award from the UK trade body the Property Care Association (PCA), at an event held at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

Founded almost 30 years ago, RLH Developments, based in Coombe Avenue, carries out specialist timber and damp proofing works for local authorities, housing associations and main contractors.

RLH Directors Andy Godfree and Kerri O'Reilly travelled to south Wales to pick up their award.

Speaking after the event Ms O'Reilly said: "We are really proud and pleased to have achieved this award. It is great news for the company."

Steve Hodgson general manager of the PCA said: "This is the first year we have introduced the Contractor of the Year category into our award programme and RLH Developments are very worthy winners of the title.

"The award has been presented on the recommendations of our regional support officers who regularly audit PCA members’ work across the UK.

"RLH Developments provide a very high standard of systems and records."
